HE Keo Remy: I wish to convey my heartfelt respect, profound love and deepest gratitude to the Cambodian army for their protection of our homeland and its people.
On 4 April 2026, HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee, visited the Cambodian military forces and provincial authorities, led by HE Oum Reatrey, Governor of Banteay Meanchey province, during the Khmer New Year celebrations. He donated water, drinks, and cash to show heartfelt respect, love, and profound gratitude for their work in protecting territorial integrity, maintaining security and order, and serving the people.
During this special occasion, he offered particular praise to the Cambodian army, represented by Lieutenant Colonel Sar Sovann—aka “The Lion of the Emperor of the Tobacco Leaf”—a police officer with Land Border Protection Police Battalion No. 891 in Banteay Meanchey. Stationed to guard the Chokchey and Prey Chan areas, he actively participated with strong resolve in carrying out national duties.
This gesture highlights the leadership’s care and backing for the forces and authorities as they keep performing their vital duties for the nation and people.
HE [Keo Remy,] Senior Minister, extended New Year wishes for good health, happiness, and success in all missions to every soldier during this traditional Khmer New Year.
