Phnom Penh: HE Keo Remy, Senior Minister, President of the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC), designated HE Van Dana, a CHRC member, to represent him at the Pride Month 2026 opening ceremony and to serve on the debate competition committee on 29 May 2026 at the GIA Building, Koh Pich, at the invitation of Plan International Cambodia, together with partner organisations and networks focused on human rights, children’s rights, gender equality, and inclusion.

The Pride Month 2026 celebration seeks to raise awareness of the rights and gender equality of people with diverse gender identities and LGBT individuals, and to mobilise stakeholders to foster a safe, respectful, and non discriminatory society. Planned activities include exhibitions, outreach, panel discussions, a debate forum addressing discrimination, and public forums advocating for the rights, freedoms, and dignity of people with diverse gender identities and LGBT persons. These events will bring together civil society networks, the LGBT community, youth, relevant stakeholders, and private sector partners.

Pride Month (1–30 June) is an occasion to recall the history and struggles of the movement and to advocate for dignity, equality, and non discrimination for everyone. A healthy society respects diversity, upholds human rights and equal worth, and coexists through mutual understanding and respect.
